Today we spent €25 from our first sales of recycled picks on a coral! We named it "Jampicks One" because it is the first coral we adopted. You can see the adoption certificate in the picture above. Coralgardeners.org aim to save the coral reefs through education and coral reef restoration. They transplant coral cuttings onto degraded areas of reef. When these coral fragments grow, they help to recreate reef habitats. This allows other life to return and strengthens the reef against future damage.
Our coral will be planted here (opens google maps) We also took some screenshots of the map below and some photos of their work. Coralgardeners are based in Moorea, French Polynesia. Moorea is next to Tahiti in the South Pacific Ocean and once we have our boat we will sail there and check on our corals :-)
