Footnotes
Little Betty Boop - First jam starts off fairly standard, if a little restrained. Magner's bass synth is very prominent. The jam seems to be quickly moving towards a standard peak, but Magner's cooing bird synths signal a departure from the norm, and shortly after, around 6:30, the jam begins to break down. Barber immediately takes on a more prominent role, and signals a move toward more sinister territory. Magner follows suit shortly after. In the ensuing minutes, Barber and Magner are so in step with each other they almost sound like a single unit. The jam breaks down once again and moves through another sinister theme, gradually returning to Boop territory
The Very Moon - Probably the only Barber-on-bass jam that didn’t feel like musical treading water. The jam doesn’t always click, and is almost always incohesive, but the experimental factor alone makes it worthwhile.
