What this is
Phish Picks is a free setlist-prediction game for Phish fans. This page explains, in plain language, what information the site handles and what happens to it.
What we collect
- Your email address - used only to sign you in (magic link) or received from Google when you sign in with Google. We use it for authentication and nothing else.
- Your chosen username - shown on scoreboards to other players in your groups.
- Your game activity - picks, scores, and group memberships. That's the game.
- Which pages get visited - the path, the time, a random visitor id kept in your browser, and your account if you're signed in. It's counted by us, on our own database. No third party sees it.
- Roughly where you are - a city, state or region, and country, worked out from your IP address by our host at the moment you load a page. We use it to see which parts of the country the players are in. We do not store your IP address, and we don't keep the more precise coordinates our host also offers. It's a guess from your network, so it's often the wrong city and it's wrong more or less always on a VPN.
What we don't do
- No selling or sharing of your data with anyone.
- No third-party analytics - no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel. The page counting described above is ours, runs on our own database, and goes nowhere else.
- No email you didn't ask for: sign-in links, and pick reminders before a show if you leave them on. You can switch the reminders off on your profile at any time.
Where it lives
Data is stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and the site is hosted on Vercel. Sign-in emails are delivered via Resend. Setlist and song data comes from the phish.net API, a project of the non-profit Mockingbird Foundation.
How long we keep it
Your account, picks and scores stay as long as you have an account - the game is a season-long record, so deleting last month would break the standings. Page-visit rows and their rough locations are kept while they're useful for seeing how the site is being used. If you'd rather none of it existed, say so and it goes, along with everything else.
Deleting your data
Want out? Email mozzbito@gmail.com and your account and picks will be deleted.
